Rest Is Good

Ahhhhh, a four day weekend! School is out for Labor Day (and a teachers meeting on Tuesday) and I know the time off will be great! We don't really have many plans. May go to the zoo on Sunday. May get to go camping Monday and Tuesday with friends! That would be awesome!
Football started this week in Crescent. We are for SURE a football town! Not sure how well the team will do this year, but that doesn't seem to matter to our fans much. Football brings fall. I love fall. It's the best season!
Enough mush. Will post with pictures if we do anything exciting this weekend!

Floppin'

So, tonight my son was being awful quiet in his room. I asked (from the living room) what he was doing, and he said he was feeding his fish - which was what he was supposed to be doing. When I went to tuck him in, I noticed the lid to the fish tank was on a little crooked, recalling that it was like that last night too and I had fixed it then. When I asked him about this, my dear son said, "I wanted to see if they really flopped around on the floor"! I could not believe this! I was so appalled and he was obviously upset either by my reaction or by whatever it was that he "discovered" during his experiment. The fish seems fine. He's missing part of his tail. Poor guy. Words fail me....

First Day Of School

Today was the first day of school. Colton and I both look forward to school every year. We miss our friends during the summer!
Colton is in Mrs. Walker's class. He sits next to his friend, Nash. He came out of the classroom today and said, "I didn't even be bad today! Whew! That was hard!" Too funny!
After school was the bus route. Several new kids and new stops, but we didn't lose anybody and came back with an empty bus!
Then home for an early dinner and some more Olympics! Good day, Tater!

"Pudge"

That man was yummier than the jumbo dogs! LOL

Take Me Out To The Ballgame....

What an awesome night! We took Joe to see a Yankees game!! Surprising Joe was most of the fun, but how can you beat an MLB game? Joe was very surprised with his ticket and shirt - he cried! It was perfect. He never suspected it and it was all worth the months of secrets and planning.
The game itself was great too. The Yankees just "aquired" Ivan Rodriguez and I love him, so that made it that much more fun. The game was close all the way up to the 9th inning when it was tied. It was the typical. Bottom of the ninth, bases loaded, I don't think there was actually a full count yet, but Marlon Byrd actually hit a GRAND SLAM to win the game for the Rangers. It was truly amazing! Even though the Yankees lost, it was a great and exciting final inning!! I'm posting a few of my favorite pictures! Enjoy!

Lone Star State Of Mind.....

Well, we are currently back in the car and headed south on I-35 to Texas. Today is Joe's pretend birthday. He will be 20 in December, but I came up with a plan a few months ago on what to give him. We are on our way to Texas for the evening to......... well, it's a surprise. I would tell you, but then, well, you know...
Here's a picture from the now famous scenic outlook about 40 miles north of the Red River. Definitely more pictures and blogging to come!! It will be amazing!!! LOL
